C. Scott Baker (born August 10, 1954) is an American molecular biologist and cetacean specialist. He is Associate Director of the Marine Mammal Institute at Oregon State University. He is also Adjunct Professor of Molecular Ecology and Evolution at the University of Auckland, and Editor of the Journal of Heredity. Early life and work Baker was an undergraduate at New College of Florida, later doing his PhD research on humpback whales at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. He later worked on molecular genetics at the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity, National Cancer Institute (1987–88). Starting in 1994, he became a regular delegate to the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission for New Zealand or the USA, and a member of the Cetacean Specialist Group of the IUCN. Timothy Scott Baker (born September 19, 1981) is an American former professional baseball starting pitcher. He stands tall and weighs . He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Dodgers. He bats and throws right-handed. Baker grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and attended Oklahoma State University. He was drafted by the Twins in the second round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft and reached the major leagues in 2005. In 2006, he made their starting rotation out of Spring training but struggled and was sent to the minor leagues for most of the rest of the season. Scott Mitchell Baker (April 30, 1957 – June 23, 2000) was a racecar driver on the ARCA circuit. Life and career Baker was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1957 and graduated from Saugatuck High School in Saugatuck, Michigan, in 1975. He served in the United States Navy for six years prior to his race-driving career. Death Baker died on June 23, 2000, after a crash in the Jasper Engines & Transmissions 150, an ARCA race at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio. Late in the race, Baker was running in the 8th position when he made contact with Joe Cooksey which spun Baker into a tire barrier made of tractor tires. Sir Thomas Scott Gillespie Baker, PC, KC (born 10 December 1937) is a retired English Court of Appeal judge. Scott Baker is the eldest son of Sir George Baker, a former High Court judge who was President of the Family Division from 1971 to 1979. One of his brothers, Judge Michael Baker, KC, was the Resident judge at St Albans Crown Court. Scott Baker was educated at Haileybury & Imperial Service College, and studied at Brasenose College, Oxford. He was a member of Chorleywood Urban District Council from 1964 to 1967.
